This Remembrance Day we remember not just those who gave their lives in the two World Wars, but in conflicts of more recent times and in particular those who have paid the greatest price during the current conflicts in Afghanistan and with our Peace Keeping forces in countries around the globe. The freedoms we enjoy today have cost our country dearly and we remember. Lest we forget.

VCE exams have commenced and we wish all of our VCE students the very best as they enter this important time of the year. Our students have worked hard and now is the time to see the fruits of their labours. Good luck to everyone.

The first stage of demolition at the Reay Road campus has been completed and we are looking forward to seeing the empty space replaced by our new administration block. A big thank you to all of our staff who have worked hard to get ready for the construction work both at the senior and Mt Evelyn campuses.

I'd like to offer my congratulations to Shelby, a student at our Mt Evelyn Campus. Shelby won the 100m, 200m and 90m hurdles in the girls 14 years age group at the V.S.S.S.A. Eastern Zone athletics on Friday 9th of October. She was also named joint winner of the championship medal for her age group. On Tuesday 20th of October she competed at the V.S.S.S.A. Athletic championships at Olympic Park. She finished 2nd in the 90m hurdles and 1st in the 100m and 200m events. In the 100m she clocked a time of 12.41 seconds, which was a new V.S.S.S.A. state record. This record has stood since 1984, a time span of 25 years. Congratulations Shelby.
